Every spring, the Students' Union runs elections for both part-time and full-time officer positions. Both are fantastic opportunities for personal and professional development, along with making a real difference in voicing the concerns of students to the university. Part-time positions are voluntary, and can be done while you are still a student.

During your last year, you can apply for a full-time officer position, which is paid at £23,000 a year. By being a sports team leader, you have lots of transferable skills which may make you suitable for these roles, including:

• Project management

• Budgeting

• Critical decision making

• Public speaking experience and confidence

• Moderation of debates within committee

• Event management

And most importantly, knowing your peers. You have already shown you are a natural leader, so why not use your experience and knowledge of Goldsmiths Students' Union to transform it!
